Careers for Vetrans

What careers are available for vetrans, hourly jobs in fast food and retail are not careers. I went to Target and Burger king I got an email from target saying they couldn't hire me and got an interview from burger king, I got turned down by both places and half the time I applied for different jobs just to see if they would take me on as an employee. Job search for vetrans can be done on this site just search for careers for vetrans and choose the best job site that you take interest in.

Jobs are everywhere in the united states and if you know someone your most likely to get a job there. Unemployment sucks and receiving unemployment checks suck to, although it does pay the bill. when your unemployed you can't get into a apartment or apply for a home loan with unemployment checks. I lived in my mothers duplex for at least seven months and payed bills with unemployment checks. I had even applied to at least 250 different jobs in California. There are jobs in California and your area but you have to meet certain requirements. There are jobs in North Carolina and even Texas and plenty of other states. Just go to snag a job and search for jobs in your area or retail jobs

Fed Ex Driving Job

finally got a Fed Ex driving job in North Carolina after spending ten months unemployed and 7 month looking for jobs in California. I'm really glad to hear that North Carolina cares about vetrans. the Vet Reps couldn't help me in california and niether could the employment services, I'd have to say I'm really disappointed in california employment. Moving out to california after completion of active duty cost $1,000 dollars and moving back to north carolina from not being able to secure a job cost almost $1,400 dollars and a drug test and physical cost $70 dollars each I finally get a driving job even with a 102 mph speeding ticket on my driving record.
Someone finally came through for me. I'm finally happy now and don't have to depend on selling stuff on ebay and blogging just to make some money to keep the bills paid.

So if you were unemployed like me just keep trying. Even if you have to leave your home town just to find a job

Turned down from Target

I Applied at target three times, once at 16 second time at 18 and the third time at age 23. I joined the army after I was turned down from target,walmart, grocery stores, and fast food jobs. My background is clear I'm unemployed and no one wants to hire me so I have no choice but to spend another $1500 from what I have left in my savings and moving back across the United States where there is jobs. Here's what Target had to say in Yuba City, CA

Thank You for taking the time to apply with us. We are unable to offer you a position at this time

but we do appreciate your interest in Target. Well do they appreciate that I'm a Army Vet

and did a tour to Afghanistan. Probably not, Target doesn't care about military veterans.

Easy Ad Jobs

Is it a scam? yes I tried easy ad jobs its not a real job its just some website asking you to pay a one time fee so they can show you how to promote products through clickbank and google adwords. Is there such a thing? yes but only if your a website builder/Internet marketer for a major company that promotes its business through advertising the only difference is the company pays for the advertising fees not you. Easyadjob.com is on the Internet in scam reviews just enter easyadjob in a search bar and see for your self

they claim that you'll make $200-$1000 a day, thats not realistic.

Now Hiring! Movie Extra's

Talent 6 or what ever it is claims they pay $300 a day for being on a set standing and sitting for major TV shows
Its not what it seem you have to pay $40 to create a profile and then If the producer or director
thinks you'll be the perfect person they give you a call.

look for it on snagajob or career builder in small print its classified as not being a Traditional
Job.

In this case when they ask for your credit card its a scam! so be careful

Driving Jobs!

Delivery Trucks, limousines, Big Rigs and Buses

You must have a clean driving record and present you driving record at the time you apply for or get accepted for that driving Job.

If you have Speeding tickets and or a DUI don't even expect to get a driving Job, employers
for Driving Jobs frown upon this. Mainly because the insurance rates would be to high for a 21 year old with a couple of speeding tickets, compared to a 21 year old with just parking ticket. I know it sucks but you pay the price when you Drive reckless or under the influence.

The only driving Job you'll get is under the table driving your own personal vehicle.
heck you could start your own Business if you can't find a Driving Job that you like.
for example "Junk Car Haulers" or Debris Movers, what ever business fits you criteria.(You'll need a Business license to be self employed and some money to start your business)

Mechanic Jobs

In order to get a Job like this you must be skilled or have gone to college or a trade school like UTI or WYO TECH. If you go though career training where you get paid to train is another good way to go this route and avoid paid thousands of dollars for a couple of college classes or Trade school. You could also work at a dealership as a helper and then if they need mechanics they pay for you to get trained. So its really up to you!

When you get the Job most employers want you to have your own tools! UTI offers you some money towards tools upon Graduation.

Miltary Jobs

There are various jobs you can do in the military, and depending on which job basically decides whether you get a sign on bonus. Like cooks in the Army got a $20k bonus and wheeled vehicle mechanics got $0. That's just not right, so if you decide to go that route don't swear in or sign any contract papers till you get it in writing or some other kind of proof that shows you get something. This bonus that recruiters promise is from $1-22k some get $40k and trust me

it will help you in the long run towards getting a reliable car to get to work once you get to your unit. Not just a car but how about a down payment towards your own house.

Interview

Dress to Impress no jeans or tennis shoes, depending on the job, say like for a mechanic job you want to wear a pair of Dickie's either blue or black and a collar T-shirt short or long sleeve.
Also bring a Resume this will help you in securing a job. If your A vet preferably your DD-214.

same goes for a construction or landscaping job. Business jobs like a manager I'd go with a suit not black cause you don't want them to think you came from a funeral.

I search for jobs on snagajob.com, career builder is not the best i've applied for a over 100 jobs in the past 4 months and still have not heard my phone ring for an interview.
